Five Pence - Small Type Queen Elizabeth 2nd
I’ve put ‘Error Faded Lettering’ in the title just to distinguish these from normal coins, one has to put something. We don’t consider these errors as such because there are far too many out there and strictly speaking an ‘error’ denotes not many about. That said there is a market for coins that were not minted 100% correctly and this is one of those.
If you look closely at the pictures, you will see some of the lettering has not been stamped/minted properly and so becomes a bit of an anomaly. It’s not always the same letters so if you buy more than one we will try to give you slightly different faded/not properly stamped coins.
Our coin sorters search through tens of thousands of coins and so we find things like this regularly. The price reflects the fact that we find quite a few.
