- The Macaroni Penguin is known for its distinctive yellow crest; they have bright red eyes, with a thick, orange beak. With the crest, an adult bird has an average height of around 70cm, yet their weight can vary drastically dependant on the time of year and the sex of the penguin.
- Stunning new 50 pence coin features a single adult Macaroni Penguin. This stunning news series is available in Cupro Nickel Diamond Finish with each Penguin being portrayed in colour. A certificate of authenticity will also be provided with each coin.
- The population of the Macaroni Penguin is estimated to be around 18 million which is a substantial decline in recent years which has been recorded across numerous locations. Like most other penguins the Macaroni is a social animal in its nesting and behaviour.
